School, Job, Life

Journal Entry: Sun Feb 10, 2008, 8:27 AM
Well I'm not updating at the moment. I've barely had time to render anything at all in the last couple of weeks.

I've started TAFE (doing Cert 3 in IT (Applications)) which is 4 days a week with full days on Thursday and Friday with afternoons on Monday/Tuesday. I've also been pulling nights in a restaurant, working behind the bar, waiting tables and just trying to get some extra cash together to pay for my course and hubby's. So I'm pulling 18 hours at TAFE this week and 20 at the restaurant, I'm lucky if I get home before 9:30 at night and extremely lucky if I get to sleep before midnight...and I have to be up at 6am most days. Gah, it's gonna be a long but rewarding year.

Hubby's permanent residency visa paperwork is in, so that's one thing off our plates. I've got an assignment due next Monday (gonna get back to work on it now and try to get it all finished so I can hand it in a week early) and I've got work Wednesday through Sunday night.

I'm looking forward to getting a day off from both school and work just to unwind. The girls at work are ok but one of them is a real pain in my ass, she'll stop paying attention to her section so she can "show me something" which I just need practice with, or to just gossip or give me shit. She'll learn, pretty damn fast I hope.

The rest of them are cool, there's one or two that I tend to steer clear of since they're the typical high school princesses, but a whole bunch of others are pretty darn cute lol. My supervisor rocks too so it's all good :)

The kitty's gonna be the last one for a while and it's just a rough one, I didn't really have time to sit down and do anything to it. Too much homework >.<

you envy me? oh dear, that's a problem :)

i guess i got "good" at drawing because i cn't do anything on a computer...hey. maybe if you locked up your computer for a month and HAD to draw by hand you'd suddenly find you can draw after all^^

I don't mind at all. I've been working with poser for about 3 years now, it cost a few hundred dollars US to pick it up plus another couple of grand on the add ons...it's an expensive hobby but it's better than some things I could be doing. I envy you though, I wish I could draw but I can't draw my way out of a paper bag lol
~shianra:iconshianra: May 10, 2005, 12:30:46 AM
yeah? thanks! (i'm stalking you now by the way...mind?)

how much did that program cost? and how many years was it until you got that good??

Yeah, I'm a fellow Aussie. Living in south Perth. I use Poser for my artwork, it's a 3D rendering program where you can pose figures, add clothes, hair, skin textures etc, apply lighting and the like. It's a lot of fun to use though it takes a while to get used to.

I love your sketches, they're gorgeous and so colourful :)
